Platform 10 at London’s Kings Cross station was a veritable Mecca for train watchers of all ages, with generations gathering to witness spectacles such as this. In this 1957 scene one of Gresleys’ A4 Pacifics No.60015 ‘Quicksilver’ takes off with the ‘Tees Tyne Pullman’ whilst, in the background, a Peppercorn A1 Pacific No.60131 ‘Osprey’ waits impatiently to follow on with an express to Leeds and Bradford.
