All three types of ‘Virgin Trains’ electric locomotives are seen in service at Euston station in 2003.
On the left a class 90 No.90009 ‘The Economist’ arrives as a class 86 No.86244 ‘The Royal British Region’ and a class 87 depart on trains for the north. Sneaking into the picture on the far right is one of the new ‘Pendolino’ units which heralded the end of an era for regular locomotive hauled trains on the West Coast main line out of London Euston.
