Great Western Railway 0-4-2 tank engine outside Gloucester Horton Road shed (85B) in 1962.
GWR No.1424 was designed by the Great Western Railway for branch line passenger work. It was originally classified as a 4800 Class when introduced in 1932, and renumbered in 1946. Although credited to Charles Collett, the design dates back to George Armstrong’s 517 class of 1868 .
