Colin Wright

From Derbyshire - Colin grew up in the steam days of the 1950's where his interest and love of railways developed, it is these childhood memories that now provides the inspiration for much of his work.

Following education at the Joseph Wright School of Art in Derby, he initially worked as a technical illustrator / draughtsman, much of his artwork from this period appearing in technical publications. With artistic flare, technical ability plus a passion for the steam railway, Colin has now become a highly respected, sort-after and busy artist.

As well as private commissions, he also produces work for the railway industry - Colin Wright paintings have appeared on calendars, greetings cards and collector's plates... many having been reproduced as fine-art prints, including a few limited editions.
