Peter
Insole
Peter
was born in Hainault, Essex in 1957. A stone's throw from
the Underground Station, it is reputed that his first artistic
expression was copying the London Transport "target"
logo.
By the age of 10 years, marine and animal subjects drawn
from life brought some acclaim and several awards.
On being presented with a tin of water soluable crayons,
their colour and qualities led him to reject more traditional
mediums, preferring the challenge of developing the medium
to fine art standard over a period of 26 years so far!
Inspiration has always been the whole railway environment,
especially the journey. Studies were made when Peter frequently
found himself being the sole occupant of a carriage or waiting
at near deserted stations. Many of those early drawings
are now proving an invaluable source for his current work.
